Daily Devotions (Sermon-Based)

Here's a 5-day Bible reading plan and devotional guide based on the themes from the sermon entitled "The Influencers"

Here's a 5-day Bible reading plan and devotional guide based on the themes from the sermon:

Day 1: The Wisdom from Above Reading: James 3:13-18

Devotional: As we begin this journey, let's reflect on the stark contrast between earthly wisdom and heavenly wisdom. James paints a vivid picture of wisdom that comes from above - pure, peaceable, gentle, and full of mercy. How often do we find ourselves chasing after worldly wisdom, marked by envy and selfish ambition? Today, ask God to cultivate in you the fruits of heavenly wisdom. Consider how you can demonstrate gentleness and mercy in your interactions with others. Remember, true wisdom is not just about knowledge, but about living a life that reflects God's character.

Day 2: Humility in Leadership Reading: Numbers 12:1-3, 16:1-11

Devotional: Moses, described as the most humble man on earth, faced constant challenges to his leadership. Yet, he consistently responded with meekness and sought God's guidance. In our own lives, whether we hold formal leadership positions or not, we all influence others. How can we cultivate Moses-like humility? Reflect on areas where pride might be hindering your relationships or spiritual growth. Ask God to help you lead by example, always pointing others to Him rather than seeking personal glory.

Day 3: The Danger of Rebellion Reading: Numbers 16:12-35

Devotional: The story of Korah's rebellion is a sobering reminder of the consequences of challenging God's appointed authority and order. While we may not face such dramatic judgments today, the principle remains - God takes seriously how we respond to the authorities He has placed in our lives. Are there areas where you're struggling with submission, whether to God directly or to those He has placed in authority? Pray for a heart that seeks to honor God in all relationships, trusting His wisdom even when you don't fully understand.

Day 4: Intercession and Mercy Reading: Numbers 16:41-50

Devotional: Even after witnessing God's judgment, the Israelites continued to grumble. Yet Moses and Aaron interceded for them, literally standing between the living and the dead. This powerful image reminds us of Christ's ultimate intercession on our behalf. Today, consider those in your life who may be far from God. How can you stand in the gap for them through prayer and loving action? Ask God to give you a heart of compassion that mirrors His desire for all to come to repentance.

Day 5: Contending for the Faith Reading: Jude 1:3-4, 17-23

Devotional: Jude's urgent call to "contend for the faith" resonates in our world of competing ideologies and false teachings. Yet notice how he balances this with the instruction to show mercy to those who doubt. As believers, we're called to stand firm in truth while extending grace to others. Reflect on how you can grow in your understanding of God's Word so that you can confidently share your faith. At the same time, ask God to help you approach others with gentleness and respect, always ready to give a reason for the hope you have.
