Daily Devotions (Sermon-Based)
Here's a 5-day Bible reading plan and devotional guide based on the themes from the sermon entitled "Rolling Stones"
Day 1: Embracing Change to Follow God Reading: Joshua 3:1-17
Devotional: Just as the Israelites had to change their mindset and approach when crossing the Jordan, we too must be willing to change to follow God's leading. Reflect on areas of your life where you may be resisting change. How might God be calling you to step out in faith? Remember, obedience often requires us to leave our comfort zones. Pray for the courage to embrace change and trust in God's guidance.
Day 2: Remembering God's Faithfulness Reading: Psalm 77:1-20
Devotional: Asaph's journey from despair to hope in Psalm 77 reminds us of the power of remembering God's past faithfulness. Take time today to recall specific instances where God has been faithful in your life. How can these memories strengthen your faith for current challenges? Consider creating your own "memorial stones" - tangible reminders of God's work in your life that you can revisit during difficult times.
Day 3: The Presence of God Among Us Reading: Exodus 25:10-22
Devotional: The Ark of the Covenant represented God's presence among His people. Today, we have the incredible gift of God's Spirit dwelling within us. How aware are you of God's presence in your daily life? Reflect on ways you can be more attentive to His leading. Practice intentional moments of stillness throughout the day to acknowledge and connect with God's presence.
Day 4: Obedience and God's Supernatural Power Reading: Joshua 4:1-18
Devotional: The miraculous parting of the Jordan demonstrated God's supernatural power in response to obedience. Where in your life might God be asking for your obedience? Remember that our obedience often precedes God's miraculous work. Is there a "Jordan River" in your life that seems impossible to cross? Take a step of faith today, trusting that God will make a way.
Day 5: Living with Expectant Faith Reading: Hebrews 11:1-16
Devotional: The Israelites had to leave behind their "wilderness mentality" and embrace a new identity as conquerors. Similarly, we are called to live with expectant faith, not settling for less than God's best. What promises of God are you still waiting to see fulfilled? How can you cultivate a spirit of expectancy? Ask God to renew your vision and passion for the "Promised Land" He has for you, and commit to taking bold steps of faith in pursuit of His calling.
